cheers,
mostly Photoshop, but sometimes painter.
I also use Al-khemy (Al-chemy?) a free programme for thumbnailing (google it), Artrage, sketch-up, Fusion and other software for various things such as 3d base meshes, lighting, postproduction etc etc...

Not quite my sort of thing, but it's well done nonetheless.

Posted this elsewhere, but ASP was down for a day or two...

I give you another painting of the glorious Blood Angels.
It's supposed to be Brother Cloten of Bloodquest.

Enjoy....

Very nice, those red eyes are really creepy.  The only thing I'd say is that it could perhaps do with a little bit of other colour to break up the red and silver, the hilt of the chainsword does that a little, but perhaps make the chest eagle a slightly brighter golden colour?

Since Kage is opening up the forum and project somewhat again, I thought I'd post a personal work I done (and coincidentally posted today everywhere).

Ork Freebooter with pet Grot.

Sorry about the watermark- couldn't post it proper otherwise.

Welcome back, Col.  Not a fan of the orks, but I like the piece.  Have you been working on your skin tones and textures?  I'm not sure if that's it, but it seems much improved on some of the materials that you were producing earlier...

Cheers Kage, yeah well...doing work for Fantasy Flight Games and the movies full-time tend to force you to improve so...it's practice, plain and simple Smiley

Interesting.  Are you beginning to work with Maya or 3ds Max?

No, I would love to know how those work (I have 3dS Max) but unfortunately I seem to have way too little time to learn...it would save me work with definate surfaces though... Like Shoulderpads and pillars et al..

LOL.  I know the feeling.  I've got books on AutoCAD and Revit Architecture that I would just love to get to.  Drupal to give me a helping hand with the re-awakening of the project, and almost picked up a book on 3ds Max yesterday.  The only thing that stopped me was the realisation that I have the artistic talent of, as Blackadder has said, "a clutch of blind hedgehogs... in a paper bag." Cheesy

Fantastic looking piece Col, it looks incredibly crisp, even in comparison to the last piece you posted here. Can't wait to see more.
