As you have noticed, we've been having increased trouble with spam-bots lately. Not quite as graphic as on our last forum (yet!) but still very annoying. So thanks to those of you who have reported them. With that said, I would appreciate it if people stopped reporting the most obvious spam-bot posts, because me and Kage check the forum almost every day anyway and tend to delete these posts on sight. So reporting them doesn't really speed up the process, it just fills up our inboxes  Smiley

Thanks, guys.

PS: This is not to say that the report function shouldn't be used. But it's better suited for reporting more subtle inappropriate posts, especially those posted by actual members.

What more to say other than, "Indeed."

Oh, that and I'm looking into updating the forum software, but apparently I left it for sufficiently long that it's not quite as easy as just clicking a button. <sigh>

Oh boy, this the third thread...

Please implement an admin authorisation? I would sort all this nonsense out once and for all - there isn't a spammer alive that could get pass CELS' and Kage's withering gaze -  humans rule, machines suck (40K is right  Tongue - but I digress) we need sharp eyed admins to stand guard.

[tongue in cheek people, tongue ins cheek]

Three times suggesting the same thing, Phil?

The solution has already been implemented. Cheesy

Seem the same answer was appropriate for all of them  Cheesy

Though each did have a seperate theme, they all came to the same conclusion...

The solution has already been implemented. Cheesy
Um, I just looked at that, are you sure you want to ask them to put their email up?

You could use it to confirm 'pending registrations'?

That way they can keep their email secret from the world (and only share it with those they choose).

i.e. The sign up and then post in that forum.

 Cool

Yes, actually, I do at the moment.  It's a good sign of trust.

Alternately they could also just email me.

You may want to add that option...
