Hehe, I actually can't see the thing here at work, so at the moment, in honor of Meric Voyen and Tarik Torgaddon, I can't say.
Okay, wow. The color piece, while not having as much ubiquitous grimdark, is even better than the BW. In fact, it reminded of the Technocracy that the Sons of Horus fought in False Gods. Its like you personally have the STC for power armor.
But don't worry, I shan't inform the ol' Mechanicus.
CELS: I took the liberty of merging your posts, thus saving you from certain death at the hands of Kage or Malika.

My i present, the finished Grenadier Black.
Notice the colour change from red to black, the armour colour has been dulled and changed to bronze. Duel piping leading to the gun from the pack, three gauges on the weapon itself near to the pipe work, the detailing on the armour on the torso and shins (which i think is stunning) and the other bits and bobs.
Plus the Corporal rank marking on the right hand. (based on me as i will be a Corporal later this year).

I like it. So I guess he's some kind of infiltrating scout, sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies?
Oh, and I thought I had it hard having to polish my boots every day in the army. I guess it beats brass body armour

Well, the regiments that used to wear busby's (hussar/dragoon) as part of their uniform were used for reconnaissance and to guard against ambushes as an army advanced. Today, that is a role still fulfilled by the same regiments (
http://www.lightdragoons.org.uk/
)
I imagine that this force would be used as some kind of armoured cavalry, rapid deployment type thingy moving in advance of a main force.
Really like how this has turned out

I figured as much, I was just joking. Scouts tend not to wear shiny metal armour and tall hats

It's not that it took me longer, it's just that I'm grateful that I don't have to shine my shoes any longer to get a meal. And I don't even dare think about the time needed to keep engraved brass body armour nice and clean.
Don't take it as criticism though. Just an attempt at humor

I like them both. The black cape one looks unified in colour, but I also like the red cape one (but there was too much blue in the hat and feed for it to look unified too). The red one looks more, um, 'old world' probably because of the warm colours and lacking strong bluish-blacks (ignoreing the hat etc.).
All in all: good work!

Hi all i am back, been busy with 'work' stuff mainly being deployed out to Afghanistan but i return. More artwork will be added here when i finish initial designs.
Work includes:
A Captain
- Will be heavily 'cogged' with more obvious cog and mechanical designs on his armour.
Armoured vehicle design
- (named 'Boar' - will act like a chimera ferrying troops around but will be much more bulky and tough with heavier weapon load)
Possible panoramic picture of a city on their homeworld and
maybe
even a panoramic of an army of Grenadier Blacks on the Parade ground.
